Barbara Lee Laehr's Obituary
Mt. Pleasant- Barbara L. Laehr, 63, passed away on March 29, 2013 at her residence.
Barbara was born on April 1, 1949 in Racine. She had been employed as a prep-cook at Yardarm Bar and Grill for over 20 years until her retirement.
Barbara graduated life on earth with honors. She loved her Lord and she loved her neighbors as herself. Barb was a member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.
Family meant everything to Barb. She especially loved her nieces and nephews. She was warm hearted and kind, with a zest for life. She was loving, curious, and had a hug for everyone which made you feel special. Barb liked doing crafts, and had a talent for knitting and crocheting. Barb also looked forward to the monthly Rummy Royal Card Club. She had a special place in our hearts and family and will be missed by all who knew her.
She will be dearly missed by her brother, Randy Laehr; sister, Sandy (Don) Miller; nieces, Sarah (Bill) Aldridge, Carrie (Dave Harris) Laehr, nephew, Fred Laehr, niece, Jody (Ted) Riendeau, nephew, Jeff (Tammy) Miller, niece, Julie (Max) Munoz; great nieces and nephews, Chloe Jeffrey, Collin Wesley, Jared Monson, Sydney Monson, Dominic Miller, Samara Miller, JD Aldridge, and Matt Aldridge; numerous friends, and her two Shih Tzu companions, Precious and Rascal. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Irene Laehr.
Funeral services in honor of Barb will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 11:30am with Rev. James Barsch officiating. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00am until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.
Barb and her family wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the Wheaton Franciscan Radiation Oncology staff for all their loving, kind, and compassionate care.
Barb, Precious and Rascal will miss you tremendously.
