Barbara Marie Krismanich's Obituary
Racine – Barbara Marie Krismanich of Racine, age 88, passed away peacefully at St. Monica’s Senior Living on January 21, 2024.
Barbara was born in Racine on April 18, 1935, the daughter of the late Theodore and Lillian (nee Pederson) Bidwell. She was raised in Racine and was a 1953 graduate of Washington Park High School. On August 25, 1956, she was united in marriage to Robert Krismanich at St. John Nepomuk Church. They were married for 64 years, until Robert’s passing in October of 2020.
Over her lifetime, Barbara worked for Webster Electric Company, National Tea (A&P), Jewel Foods, and Dremel. She was a long-time member of Atonement Lutheran Church (Living Faith Lutheran Church). She was an accomplished seamstress who loved to sew, knit, crochet, embroider, and needlepoint. She bowled with the Thursday morning Kaffee Kaltsch League for many years and enjoyed gardening and tending to her yard and flowers. Her greatest joy was spending time with family at the cottage on Silver Lake in Wautoma, WI, and celebrating birthdays and holidays together. Barbara will be remembered for the love she had for her family, especially her grandchildren, and her generous heart.
Barbara is survived by her daughters: Denise (Terry) Peterson and Debi (Randall) Schlicht; grandchildren: Erin Peterson, Trevor Peterson, and Evan Schlicht; sisters-in-law: Donna Bidwell and Doris Timler; and brother-in-law, John Wasmundt.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Ted Bidwell; sister, Beverly Wasmundt; sisters-in-law: Frances Krizmanich and Patricia Krizmanich; and brother-in-law, George Krizmanich.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Living Faith Lutheran Church, 2915 Wright Avenue, with Reverend Justin Kierzek officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. -11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to Living Faith Lutheran Church or St. Monica’s Senior Living have been suggested.
