Barbara Lucinda Chamberlain's Obituary
Caledonia – Barbara Lucinda Chamberlain, 87, of Caledonia, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024, at Lakeshore at Siena.
Born on September 10, 1937, in Penn, Pennsylvania, Barb was the cherished daughter of Wallace and Lucinda Porter. United in marriage to Wayne Justin Chamberlain, they built a life filled with love and laughter. As a devoted homemaker, Barb nurtured her family with boundless patience and warmth, creating a home that was a sanctuary for her husband and children.
Barb had an adventurous spirit and a passion for travel. Her honeymoon in Hawaii remains a cherished memory, as do countless trips spent enjoying the serene beauty of the Kohler Center and the charm of the rustic cabins at Fort McCoy. An avid collector, she amassed a delightful array of teddy bears, which she generously donated to children’s charities, bringing joy to countless little ones in need. Her kindness extended beyond her collections; she found immense joy in the companionship of her beloved dogs, who were a constant source of comfort and joy in her life.
Barb leaves behind a legacy of love, remembered fondly by her children: Raymond LaValle, Joseph (Kathy) LaValle, Michael (Sandy) LaValle, Jessie LaValle, and Gary (Leanne) LaValle. Her family also includes numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she touched with her gentle spirit.
Barb was preceded in death by her former husbands, Raymond LaValle and Robert “Bob” Boyd, and her beloved husband, Wayne Chamberlain; daughters-in-law, Leta LaValle and Wanda LaValle. She also reunites with her dear brothers and sisters in eternal peace.
A private celebration of Barb’s remarkable life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, Cremation Center & Cemetery of Evansville, Indiana.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Allay Home and Hospice for their unwavering kindness and support during Barb's final days.
Barb’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
