Audrey M. Helman's Obituary
Racine-Audrey Madge Helman, age 90, passed away on May 12, 2017 at Willowcrest Care Center in South Milwaukee, WI.
On April 25, 1927, Audrey was born to Forrest and Clara (nee: Cradler) Koken in Milwaukee, WI. Audrey was united in marriage to Lorran “Chuck” Helman on April 25, 1969 in Waukegan, IL.
Audrey was a school bus driver for Racine Unified for 20 years. As a school bus driver, she never got into a single accident. Audrey had an interest in working on cars. She was mostly interested in bodywork and she liked to work on her boat as well. Audrey had a passion for her flower gardens and she liked to make people laugh. She was very kind, generous, and had a touching smile. Audrey loved her family, favorite neighbors, and her cat, Daisy.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Rick (Nanci) Bogan and Carla Valdez; grandchildren: Traci Bogan, Jennifer (Michael) Olkwitz, Aimy (Boone) Smith, and Mark (Lauren Kovac) Valdez Jr; great-grandchildren: Drew and Tayler Bassett, Savannah Olkwitz, Hyacinth and Bohdan Smith, and Aidan and Avery Valdez.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Clara Koken; her husband, Lorran “Chuck” Helman; sisters: Harriet, Ann, and Virginia; and son-in-law, Mark Valdez Sr.
A celebration of Audrey’s life will be held at the West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wilsonfuneralhominc.com.
