Ariel Gloria Hansche's Obituary
Ariel Gloria Hansche, 89, of Bourbonnais, IL, and formerly of Racine, WI, went peacefully but unexpectedly to meet her Lord, on Tuesday July 28, 2015 (one month after her husband’s passing).
Gloria was born on July 10, 1926 in Readstown, WI, to Elmer and Jesse Miller, and grew up in Richland Center, WI. After high school graduation in 1944, she worked in the Tabulating Department of J.I. Case Co., in Racine for 4 years. She met the love of her life, Frederick W. Hansche, in Racine and they were married on June 12, 1948. She devoted her life to the care of her husband and 3 daughters.
Gloria was a dedicated member of Taylor Avenue Church of the Nazarene for nearly 70 years. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday School classes, was awarded the Wisconsin District Sunday School Supervisor of the year, served as missionary society president, and served on the church social committee and any other job that needed to be done. She loved music and was known for her solos at church. She loved to entertain, was a superb cook, and enjoyed camping, walking, traveling, reading and especially spending time with her family. She traveled to 8 countries with her husband on numerous work and witness trips. She lived in Racine until 2004 when she moved to Bourbonnais, IL to be near her daughters. She shared her husband’s life motto “Only one life will soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last!”
Gloria will be dearly missed by her daughters, Jackie (Dan) Oathout of Edmond, OK, Marilyn (Randy) Myers, and Barbara (Marlin) Wallace of Bourbonnais, IL; special nephew, Cliff (Patty) Miller of Mesa, AZ; 7 grandchildren, Rebecca (Phil) Ross, Brian (Heather) Oathout, Nathan (Natasha) Oathout, Lindsay (Wyatt) Partlow, Janna Myers, Mathew (Megan) Wallace and Nicole Wallace; 8 great-grandchildren, Natalie, Olivia and Abby Ross, Isabelle, Grace, and Carter Oathout, and Kyler and Kason Partlow; sister Olien Granger of Richland Center, WI; sisters-in-law Mabel Christopherson of Janesville, WI and Betty Hansche, of Kenosha, WI and many other loving nieces and nephews.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Jesse Miller, husband, Frederick Hansche; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as some nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Gloria will be held at the Taylor Avenue Church of the Nazarene, 2100 Taylor Avenue, on Saturday, Aug. 1st, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church starting at 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00AM. Pastor Jim Larrabee will officiate, with interment following at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Taylor Avenue Church of the Nazarene, or Racine Youth For Christ. Condolences may be expressed at www.wilsonfuneralhomeracine.com
