Amelia Langdon's Obituary
Amelia “Auntie Em” Langdon, (née Venegas), age 87, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, at the Hospice Alliance Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Born in Racine on October 21, 1938, to Manuel and Lupe (née Rodriguez) Venegas, Amelia was raised in a loving, lively household surrounded by siblings, faith, and tradition. She attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and later graduated from St. Catherine’s High School.
On September 5, 1970, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jeffrey Michael Langdon, during a heartfelt ceremony in their Racine home. Amelia worked in various roles throughout her life and eventually spent 12 meaningful years with Ruud Lighting before retiring in 2005, joyfully dedicating her days to caring for her cherished grandchildren.
Amelia’s Catholic upbringing remained a steady foundation throughout her life. She expressed her love through creativity, pouring her heart into knitting, quilting, sewing, and crocheting. Countless hats, scarves, dishcloths, and doilies, crafted with care, found their way into the hands of family and friends. She thoroughly enjoyed days spent making tamales with family and friends throughout the years. Amelia’s famous chocolate chip cookies, unmatched by any imitator, became a beloved family treasure.
Her Mondays were happily reserved for Culver’s outings with her “Culverette” friends, a tradition filled with laughter and companionship. Amelia also had a lifelong affection for her dogs, and leaves behind her beloved companions, Freckles and Max. Above all, she treasured every moment spent with her granddaughters whose lives she enriched with unwavering love, wisdom, and warmth.
Amelia’s memory will continue to be lovingly cherished by her husband, Jeffrey Langdon; her sons, David Kraftzenk and Erik (Angela) Langdon; and her beloved granddaughters, Autumn Eifert, Randie Langdon, and Rhianna Langdon (Ricardo Flores). She is further survived by her siblings: Rita Lukasiewicz, Mary Willis, Sylvia (Kurt) Petersen, David (Kathy) Venegas, and Timothy (Tammy) Venegas; her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Dawn Venegas, Tom Weiss, and Kathy Venegas; her dear friend, Debbie Wiesner; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends whose lives she touched.
She is now reunited in spirit with her parents, Manuel and Lupe Venegas; her daughter-in-law, Kristin Kraftzenk; her brothers, Tony Venegas and Carl Venegas; her sister, Theresa Venegas; her brother-in-law, Bill Willis and her beloved niece Toni Lynn Venegas.
In accordance with her wishes, Amelia’s family will honor her life in a private celebration. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her niece, Kathy Christenson, for the loving care and comfort she provided to Amelia, and to the compassionate staff of the Hospice Alliance Hospice House for their exceptional kindness and support during Amelia’s final days.
Amelia’s life was defined by love, creativity, and quiet strength. She poured her heart into her family, her crafts, and the friendships she cherished. Though she will be deeply missed, her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her.
