Alice Pedersen's Obituary
Bloomington, MN- Mrs. Alice M. (nee: Jensen) Pedersen, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 09, 2011 in Bloomington, Minnesota where she lived for the past year.
Alice was born in Racine to the late George and Mabel (nee: Sannes) Jensen on August 21, 1921 and lived in West Racine most of her life. She was united in marriage to Don Kenneth Pedersen on January 8, 1944 at Racine Gospel Tabernacle. He preceded her in death on November 2, 1988.
Mrs. Pedersen was a member of Calvary Memorial Church and participated in Lend-a-Hand Martha's, All Saints Auxiliary, and Lincoln Lutheran Auxiliary. She enjoyed gospel music, travel, visiting family, afternoon coffee, handwork of all kinds, especially knitting, and absolutely everything Danish.
Alice will be dearly missed by her daughters, Karen (Joaquin Ruy) Pedersen, and Lisa (Thomas) Gerhart; grandchildren, Gunnar (Meredith) Knutsen and Benjamin Gerhart; and great-grandson, Christian Peder Knutsen. She is survived by brothers, Leonard and William; Sister-in-laws Donna, Margie, Joyce, Yvonne and Mary Ann Jensen and Margaret Pedersen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; daughter Kathleen: granddaughter, Kendra Marie Gerhart; brothers, George, Harvey, Howard and Robert Jensen; brothers-in-laws Arnie and Albert Pedersen and sister-in-laws Mary and Virginia Jensen and Florence Pedersen. She leaves behind many Jensen and Pedersen nieces, nephews and their children in Racine and across the country.
Funeral services in memory of Alice will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rev. Nathan James officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest at Ken's side.
