Alfredo Fuentes' Obituary
Alfredo Fuentes, age 58, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 in his home.
Alfredo was born in Laredo, Texas on September 21, 1955 to Maria Elena Peña.
Alfredo was married to Dolores Avila on August 20, 1988. Alfredo worked at Chrysler Corporation in Kenosha, where he later retired after 30 years. Alfredo was an accomplished bass player. He enjoyed playing Rock n' Roll and the Blues, but excelled at playing Tejano music in many different bands, for more than 45 years. Alfredo enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved watching football, and was a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan.
Alfredo is survived by his mother, Maria Elena Pena, his children; Jose (Melisa) Torrez and Esperanza Fuentes, eight grandchildren; Alexandra, Joana, Anthony, Liliana, Alana, Milayna, Louciano, Alfredo and one grandchild on the way. He is also survived by many brothers and sisters, Jaunita (Mario) Martinez, Deacon Roberto (Lorenza) Fuentes, Domingo (Karen) Peña, Victor (Raquel) Peña, Guadalupe Love, Sandra (Johnny) Mugica, Frances (Frank) Villanueva, Diana (Eloy) Baez , David (Cheryl) Peña, Cecilia Ramirez, Laura (John) Trevino, Reynaldo (Erica) Peña, Ermelinda Durom, Delfina (Domingo) Zuniga, Diamantina Perez and Domingo (Emilia) Peña, Jose (Dolores) Pena, Ruben Pena; special nephew, Manuel Gonzalez; Mother in law, Hortencia Avila; brother and sisters-in-law, Anna (Samuel) Torres, Francis Avila, Esther (Armondo) Martinez, Andy Avila, Roseann (Ralph) Martinez; and his best man, Enrique Aranda, Sr.
Alfredo was preceded in death by his grandparents, Secundino and Cenobia R. Fuentes, his wife, Dolores Fuentes, sisters; Cruz (Jose) Vera, Esperanza (Manuel) Gonzalez, Alicia Fuentes, brothers; David (Oralia) Fuentes, Guadalupe Fuentes, Father-in-law, Manuel Avila and Stepfather, Domingo Peña .
There will be a visitation for Alfredo at Wilson Funeral home on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 PM.
A Funeral service for Alfredo will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Cristo Rey Parish, (800 Wisconsin Ave.) at 11:00 AM. Friends and relatives may meet with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
