Albert Brackett's Obituary
Racine - Mr. Albert A. Brackett, 81, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints on Wednesday, September 22, 2010.
Albert Brackett was born in Racine to the late Albert Sr. and Marie (nee: Pallesen) Brackett on July 8, 1929. He graduated from Fort Atkinson High School, Class of 1947,
and had lived in Racine for 56 years. In Racine, he was united in marriage to Jean Cerveny on April 10, 1954.
Mr. Brackett was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was employed by the United States Postal Service from 1954 until 1985. He also worked for Johnson Park Golf Course for 25 years. He enjoyed golf and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Albert is survived by his wife, Jean; his children, Mary (Bill) Kocken and Mark Brackett; three grandchildren, Emily (Wade) Scheevel, Carrie (Ross) Budnik and Brian Kocken; one great grandson, Westin Scheevel; one sister, Wanda Draeger; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Deanna Brackett, John Cerveny and Mirian Cerveny; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Alfred and his other brothers, Ken and Donald; and his sister, Shirley.
A memorial ceremony will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 40 Ohio Street, on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 11 am. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10 am until the time of ceremony. Private inurnment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. A memorial to one's favorite charity has been suggested.
