Agnes Nilsine Krogh's Obituary
Agnes Nilsine (Nee: Jacobsen) Krogh died December 10, 2014 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints at the age of 93.
Agnes was born in Arpin, WI on October 9, 1921 to the late Joseph and Anna (Myhre) Jacobsen. When she was 5 years old, her family moved back to Chicago. She graduated from Murray F. Tuley High School in 1939 and found employment at the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago.
Agnes was married to Curtis H. Krogh at Kedzie Avenue Methodist church in Chicago on October 22, 1941 and they celebrated 71 years of marriage. Agnes and Curtis lived in Racine following marriage and Agnes worked at the American Bank, and Foundry Allied Industries (WI Pattern Works) in Racine.
Since marriage, Agnes was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church, sang in the choir and was active in the Women’s Circle. She excelled at quilting and crafting and was a member of Lighthouse Quilters. She loved to work in her garden.
She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage and visited relatives in Norway five times with her husband, Curtis. She was a wonderful person, she loved her family and really enjoyed being with them.
She is survived by her children, Claudia (Dr. Ronald) Kraus, Mark (Penny) Krogh,
Rhonda (Mark) Nelson, Jennifer Maresh and Jon (Deborah) Krogh, 9 grandchildren and
2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Jenny Jensen, Bottineau, ND and sister-in-law Pearl Poulsen, Racine and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis in 2013, her parents and her sister Katherine Johansen.
Funeral services in honor of Agnes will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 PM with Pastor John Horner-Ibler officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Private interment will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
