Robert Walter Hackler

Racine- Robert Hackler, 92, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, May 14, 2020. Robert was born on August 5, 1927 in Racine to Walter and Anna (nee Fechner) Hackler. Robert graduated Horlick High school in 1945 and enlisted in the United States Navy and served in World War II from 1945 to 1946. He then continued to serve as a reservist until 1954. Robert met Dorothy Lois Goodland and the two were united in marriage on May 8, 1948. After serving in the Navy, Robert was a system analyst until his retirement on January 2, 1991. Mr. Hackler was a former member of Atonemnet Lutheran Church and Racine Baptist Temple. Robert was president of the Racine Chapter DPMA and he was a member of the Gold Wing Owners Association. Robert was also a roller skating enthusiast. Left to cherish Roberts memories are his children: Jeanne (Joe) Larson, Mark (Michaelene) Hackler, Roberta (Jeffery) Walls; grandchildren: Kevin Walls, Jessica Walls; step grandchildren: Michael, Timothy, Adam Kutz; sister-in-law: Emily Hackler; special niece: Kathy Barbeau and many other nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Hackler, his parents, Walter and Anna Hackler, sister, Maryanne Pietivitch, brother, Walter Hackler Jr and brother-in-law Albert Pietkivitch.
