Lucy Lee Cox

Racine-Lucy Lee Cox, 81, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family. Lucy was born on May 6, 1940, to the late Fred Sr. and Crilla (nee Blackwell) Prather in Ripley, Mississippi. She was united in marriage to William M. Cox on November 29, 1958, also in Ripley. They were married for 12 years until William’s passing in November of 1971. Lucy enjoyed collecting antique furniture and loved decorating her house with it. She also enjoyed listening to music. Above all, Lucy loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. She cherished every moment she had with them. Lucy will be deeply missed by her loving children: Vincent Cox, Kathleen Cox, and Wendell Cox; grandchildren: Domneik, Ashanta, Vanshay Sr., Quamecca, and Kiera; great-grandchildren: Kayden, Zariah, Mahogany, Vanshay Jr., and Vanity; siblings: Fred Prather Jr., Franklin Prather, Priscilla Prather, and Mary Gosia; along with several other relatives and friends. Lucy is predeceased by her husband, William; and her sisters: Faye Prather and Shirley Lasley. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation for Lucy at the Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 10:30 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. A private service for Lucy will take place after. Lucy’s final resting place will be at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the friends and family for their continuous support for Lucy and her family.
