Amelia,My Condolences To You And Your Family...
This is not a memory of Raul but I think it is close enough.
I have had the opportunity to get to know members of the Familia Mejia personally. I think it goes as far back as to the early 80"s getting to know the young men of the family through sports and special events. They were not just good athletes but they gained the respect from me and from other who got to know them from their actions.
And the young ladies were no different. I was the fortunate one to have gotten to know some of them personally outside of work. The pleasantry and attitude towards others and especially towards life is amazing! I always felt comfortable around them and in conversation. But why is it that everyone in the family had the same attitude, compassion, and outlook on life???
Their parents, RAUL and AMALIA were the common factor. All of them being brought up with ideals, values, customs and a life style starts with a strong belief and family values. Raul must have been a special young man. He married the love of his life and he wanted to make sure the ethics of their belief was instilled in their children. This isn't done just by words alone, it is done by exhibiting your feeling about how people should be by actions and beliefs. This I see in all of his lineage. I hand the gratitude to Raul and his wife Amalia. You both did an amazing in living your life.
Vaya con Dios, Raul.
